Currently, we have 3 workshops in the north of Portugal, more specifically, in Ponte de Lima, Penafiel and Santa Maria da Feira.     We're seeking a proven, results-driven Production Manager/Chef d'Équipe (minimum 3 years' experience) to lead a dynamic team of 25-35 artisans. You'll be instrumental in driving excellence and efficiency across our production operations.


    What you'll do

    To optimize the performance of your production team by:

    • Prioritizing workplace safety, product quality, efficient workflows, and on-time delivery within your designated area.
    • Fostering teamwork to achieve shared objectives.
    • Spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Identifying and nurturing individual talent, empowering your team's professional growth.
    • Championing adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Overseeing daily production activities, ensuring optimal resource utilization, including the management of production schedules across different shifts.
    • Managing team training requirements.
    • Contributing actively to process improvement and development projects.
    • Analyzing performance data to implement effective corrective measures.
    • Promoting transparency and open communication within your team and across departments.
    • Maintaining a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
    • Upholding all company policies and procedures.
    • Providing support to the Production Director on key projects, as needed.


    Is this position made for you?

    • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
    • Well-versed in production management principles and lean manufacturing methodologies.
    • An experienced production team leader (minimum 3 years).
    • Known for your ethical values and commitment to confidentiality.
    • Highly organized, with excellent time management, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities.
    • Proficient in standard IT software (Excel, etc.).
    • Knowledgeable in health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • A skilled communicator and problem-solver, with demonstrable leadership qualities.

    What you'll do:

    • Assist with monthly and annual financial closings.
    • Support the budgeting process and monthly performance tracking.
    • Help prepare sales forecasts to achieve our future goal.
    • Assist in Internal control reviews.

    Is this you?

    If you're a strategic thinker with a proven track record in production planning, eager to tackle bottlenecks and enhance output, then this opportunity is exactly what you've been looking for.


    Reporting to the Planning Manager, your core mission will be to optimize production planning and collaborate closely with both the production and logistics teams. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for maximizing efficient production time (for instance, by sequencing production to minimize changeover time). You'll need to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to keep the shop floor up-to-date, identifying constraints and other issues, then driving solutions to ensure a continuous production flow.


    More specifically, you'll oversee:

    • Daily production line planning;
    • Analyzing incoming workload from the logistics team;
    • Suggesting line organization to Production Supervisors based on the received workload;
    • Generating work orders;
    • Collaborating with Production Supervisors to analyze production bottlenecks;
    • Managing customer-requested priorities;
    • Tracking the shipping schedule and calculating reliability results;
    • Monitoring in-process flow on the lines, as well as delay depth;
    • Working hand-in-hand with Production Supervisors to define production capacity plans.


    Is this position made for you?

    We're looking for someone with 4-5 years of experience in production planning, ideally within an industrial setting. You should have an engineering degree in industrial production or a related field and be highly proficient in MS Office and SAP. Strong analytical and mathematical skills are essential, coupled with a keen eye for detail and the ability to organize information. Fluency in either French or English is a must.
