    We are building the next-generation neobank from scratch. We are heavily scaling up the teams and you'll work on a massive, greenfield fintech project building a secure, compliant platform that brings together crypto, fiat, banking, and investments in one intuitive experience. Our products include digital wallets, crypto cards, SWIFT & SEPA transfers, debit and virtual cards, POS integrations, and access to stocks, staking, credit products, and IPOs.


    With 150+ specialists (growing very fast!) across Vilnius, Kyiv and Dubai, we are now launching a new engineering hub in Lisbon. This Engineering Manager role is a foundational leadership position for this hub and will play a critical role in establishing the team, culture, delivery standards, and engineering practices for this hub with a lot of growth potential into more senior roles.


    Your Impact

    • Massively scaling scaling the Lisbon engineering hub so lot's of hiring
    • Build, lead, and mentor a team of up to 25 software engineers (once too big, hire/promote leads for less direct reports)
    • Shape engineering culture with a strong focus on quality, scalability, security, and compliance
    • Drive delivery excellence in a regulated fintech environment
    • Act as a key partner to Product, Compliance, and Executive leadership


    What You'll Do

    • Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development
    • Run Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure high delivery standards (DoR/DoD)
    • Balance innovation with regulatory and risk requirements
    • Embed security-by-design and compliance (PCI DSS, GDPR, DORA)
    • Track engineering KPIs (e.g. DORA metrics, reliability, compliance)
    • Own incident management and lead blameless post-mortems
    • Collaborate closely with Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams
    • Provide transparent reporting to the CTO and senior stakeholders


    What We're Looking For

    • 5+ years' experience as an Engineering Manager or senior engineering leader
    • Strong background in FinTech, Banking, or Crypto (regulated environments)
    • Proven experience leading medium-to-large engineering teams
    • Hands-on understanding of microservices, distributed systems, containers, IaC
    • Experience embedding compliance standards into engineering workflows
    • Strong Agile delivery mindset and stakeholder management skills
    • Fluent in English with excellent communication and documentation abilities

You will be impactful in tech but also a core contributor to the Lisbon hub Engineering culture which will be a great place to work from. There will be many opportunities to grow in any direction whilst we grow our company.


    Engineering Environment

    • Languages: Go (Golang), TypeScript (optional)
    • Storage: PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, ClickHouse
    • Transport: gRPC, HTTP, RabbitMQ, Kafka
    • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Flux
    • DevOps: Terraform, Helm (optional)
    • Metrics & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki


    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Design and implement high-load microservices
    • Build data pipelines and data storage systems
    • Work with queues, asynchronous tasks, data streams, and data lakes
    • Write unit and integration tests
    • Optimize performance and resource consumption
    • Participate in architectural decision-making
    • Support and maintain production systems


    Requirements

    • 4+ years of commercial experience with Go
    • Strong understanding of microservices architecture
    • Experience building data warehouses or data pipelines
    • Hands-on experience with queue systems and message brokers
    • Deep understanding of concurrency and goroutines
    • Experience designing and scaling distributed systems
    • Ability to read, maintain, and improve existing codebases
    • Proficiency with Git and Docker
    • Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
    • Upper-intermediate or fluent English
